A Dove Tales Event: Bridges or Walls

As the Middle East continues to be ravaged by conflict, Dove Tales peace charity features Iyad Hayatleh, a Palestinian poet and translator who grew up in a Syrian refugee camp, in conversation with Jean Rafferty. Based in Glasgow since 2000, Iyad has published work in Arabic and given readings in the UK including at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, and in Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. Books include Beyond All Measure ( Survivors Press 2007) and a two-way translation project, A Rug of a Thousand Colours (Luath, 2012) with the late Tessa Ransford inspired by the Five Pillars of Islam.

Followed by readings from contributors to Dove Tale’s 2019 anthology, Bridges or Walls.
