Big Lit 2020 : POSTPONED due to Covid-19

Karen Campbell: The Sound of the Hours

Buffaloes in Barga - Galloway author Karen Campbell returns to Big Lit to talk about her latest book 'The Sound of the Hours'.  A historical novel set in Barga - Italy's most Scottish town- the book tells the story of a Scots-Italian family caught up in World War Two, and the segregated US Buffalo soldiers who helped liberate them.

“An ambitious novel, and one of rare scope and understanding”  Alan Massie, The Scotsman.

‘It’s a novel to get lost in – one that transports you to another time and place, and you cannot help but become involved and emotionally invested with the lives of those who live there. It’s also a timely reminder that any discussion about the best contemporary Scottish novelists should include Karen Campbell’. Alistair Braidwood: The Best of Scottish Books
